Florida Security Certifications
D-License
State-required license for unarmed security officers, authorizing professional duties including access control, patrol, observation, and incident reporting.
G-License
State-issued armed security license permitting qualified officers to carry firearms while performing elevated-risk protective security assignments.
Guardian
168-hour Guardian Program, conducted through the Florida Sheriff’s Office. GEO Security supports qualified officers through the application and placement process for these specialized assignments.

School Guardian roles require a valid Florida Class D Security Officer License, a Florida Class G Statewide Firearm License, and a Certificate of Guardian Training. Unarmed officer roles require a valid Class D license.

Schedules depend on the assignment and may include weekday, weekend, daytime, evening, or event-based shifts. School Guardian roles follow consistent schedules aligned with the school calendar.
Guardian assignments require the Class D and Class G licenses and the Guardian certification before placement. GEO Security supports qualified officers through the application and placement process for these specialized assignments.
